Royal Mint Lunar
The "Lunar" range of Gold coins from The Royal Mint are issued every year to coincide with the Chinese lunar new year. Each release of coin features a unique design of the animal representing that specific year.
Twelve animals are to be featured in total, with designs by a number of British artists. As the Lunar gold coins are made by the Royal Mint, they are both VAT-free and CGT exempt, making them a great choice for both investors and collectors.
The Royal Mint Lunar gold coins are idea for investors who want something a little more collectable than the traditional Britannia coin. Designed to the same specifications - 24 carat gold, and attributed a £100 face value - the Lunar coins are still VAT-free and CGT exempt, but the limited mintage numbers could increase their collectability amongst some investors.
