Silver Kookaburra

Continuing with the Perth Mints high standards in producing outstanding bullion coins, the Silver Kookaburra Bullion coin is one of the longest running silver bullion series since its introduction in 1990. Struck in .999 silver together with the annual design changes and limited mintage, it has also generated popularity with investors and collectors.

Celebrating the Australian Kookaburra, the reverse image depicts two Kookaburras perched on a wooden fence. The quality is clearly seen in the detailing of the design which makes this an instant hit with investors and collectors.

The Kookaburra is a carnivorous bird that uses its strong beak to catch its prey and will eat almost anything including lizards, insects, small birds and snakes.

Legal tender in Australia, the obverse features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.

Previously limited to an annual 300k coin mintage limit, in order to accommodate high demand for the series, the limit was moved to 500k coins per annum.
