Description

The Royal Mint has launched a special edition of the Britannia coin in 2023 to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III. This coin features the crowned effigy of Charles III by Martin Jennings, and contains 31.1 grams of fine silver at a purity of 999 parts per thousand. It holds a legal tender value of £2 and is exempt from Capital Gains Tax.

To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, The Royal Mint has struck a Britannia bullion coin range featuring a special crowned version of the portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings. The reverse design by Philip Nathan incorporates advanced security features, including micro-detail waves, intricate line work on Britannia's shield, additional Latin text on the inner rim, and a changing hologram of a padlock and trident. These features make it one of the most visually secure silver bullion coins in the world.
