This 2024 George and the Dragon one ounce silver coin is the first of a new series from The Royal Mint featuring the legendary knight and battle of good versus evil. The tale, dating back to the eleventh century, has inspired numerous artists and coin designs, with Benedetto Pistrucci's 1817 interpretation on The Sovereign being the most renowned. The series starts with a dramatic design by Jody Clark of St George driving his lance into the dragon cowering beneath his rearing horse. The obverse features the official portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.

With a face value of £2 the 2024 George & the Dragon 1oz silver coin is classed as legal tender and is exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
