Description

The 2026 Queen's Lion 1oz platinum coin, part of the Royal Tudor Beasts Collection from The Royal Mint, is the eighth release in a series commemorating the ten 'Beasts' statues at Hampton Court, symbolizing the families of the King's line. Designed by David Lawrence, the reverse side features the Queen's Lion holding a shield with the Seymour family badge in honour of Jane Seymour, serving both as a visually appealing design and as a security measure against counterfeiting. The obverse side bears the official coinage portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.

With one troy ounce of pure 999.5 platinum and a face value of £100 the 2026 Queen's Lion 1oz platinum coin is exempt from Capital Gains Tax. Collectors are advised to secure their coin while stocks last, as the coin will only be in production for a limited period of time.
