Description

One of the most recognisable coins in the world, the British sovereign is manufactured by The Royal Mint and struck in 22 carat gold (916.7 fineness).

The 2017 Gold Sovereign coin features the traditional St George and the dragon design on its reverse side and bears the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen on the obverse. 2017 gold sovereigns feature a 200th anniversary mark on the coin.

Sovereigns weigh 7.988g and contain exactly 7.3224g of pure gold.

Sovereigns are extremely attractive to UK investors due to their status as British Legal tender, meaning they are Capital Gains Tax exempt (CGT free). Gold sovereigns are VAT free and available for secure vaulting or fully insured delivery.
