Description

The 2024 125th Anniversary 1oz gold coin from the Perth Mint commemorates the mint's historic 125th anniversary. Established in 1899 as a branch of the British Royal Mint, it initially focused on refining gold from Western Australia and minting Sovereigns for the British Empire. After Australia gained independence, the mint transitioned to become the country's primary producer of gold and silver coins, including iconic series featuring Australian wildlife such as the Nugget (now Kangaroo), Koala, and Kookaburra. Today, it is a key player in the global precious metals industry, reflecting Australia's mining heritage.

This coin features the three most iconic bullion series from Perth Mint alongside Australia's national flower, the golden wattle. It bears a 'P125' mintmark and includes details of weight, purity, and year, with the obverse featuring the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.
